The FAST System is equipped with a follower, spring, and back plate. It is also equipped with drainage
ports and will operate under water. The forward end or “delivery end” of the unit is where the
magazines are loaded and retrieved. Located inside the delivery end is a relief plate designed to
ensure the operator needs only touch the magazine once before inserting it into the weapon. The
relief plate should always be set up so the opening is located at the bottom of the lead magazine. The
relief plate can be removed and “flipped” around for left or right handed operators.
Also located at the delivery end on the top and bottom of the unit are molded tabs that should be
used to further secure the delivery end to the operator’s kit. This can be done by using zip ties or
550 chord. Two of the most important things for a new user to understand are unit placement and
magazine recovery technique. Click below for our instructional video.
